Your spending and your shared bills, in one app.

Duefree tracks what you spend and splits the bills you share with the people you live with, partners and friends, so every share adds up exactly. You pay each other however you already do, and Duefree keeps the record of who has settled up.

  • No ads
  • No tracking SDKs
  • No daily cap on bills

What it does

Your own money and the money you share

Duefree keeps your own spending and the bills you share in the same app, so there’s one place to look for both.

Your own spending

  • Log what you spend and what comes in, in one line.
  • Set a monthly budget for any spending category.
  • See where your money went by week, month, year or all time.
  • Show amounts in any of 16 currencies.

The bills you share

  • Add friends by email, one to one or in a group.
  • Split a bill equally or by exact amounts.
  • See one clear balance with each friend and each group.
  • Record that you’ve settled up, all at once or, on a bill you paid, one share at a time.
Duefree’s Stats tab for October: £214.02 spent so far, against £556.73 in all of September, drawn as two lines with spending by category below.
The Stats tab: this month against last.

How it works

How a shared bill works

Three steps, whether it’s the rent, the groceries or a weekend away.

  1. Add the bill

Add a bill you paid, choose who it’s for, then split it equally or by exact amounts. Amounts are kept in exact decimals, and Duefree’s server checks every bill so its shares add up to it exactly. Any rounding difference goes into the payer’s own share.

  2. Everyone sees their share

Each person on the bill gets a notification, and the bill joins your running balance with them. If a bill isn’t theirs, they tap “Not mine” and you’re told.

  3. Pay, then record it

Pay each other by bank transfer, cash or whichever app you use. Then record that you’ve settled up, and Duefree tells the other person you’ve recorded it.

A bill you paid, split four ways.
Duefree

Keeps the record.

Who paid, who’s on each bill and who has settled up, with one balance for each friend and each group.

Your bank or payment app

Moves the money.

Duefree never pays, transfers or holds money. Settling up in Duefree means recording that you’ve settled up.

Plain and simple

What Duefree never does

Duefree keeps a record of the bills between you and your friends, and of your own spending. That’s all it does with money.

It asks for your camera or your photos only when you add a photo, and for notifications so it can tell you about bills.

  • Never lends moneyIt only records bills between you and the people you share them with.
  • Never runs checks on youIt asks for no ID. You sign up with an email address, a Google account or, on an iPhone, your Apple account.
  • Never reads your SMS or contactsThe app doesn’t ask for either. You add friends by their email address.
  • Never asks for your bank loginDuefree never connects to your bank.
  • Never moves moneyYou pay each other however you usually do. Duefree only keeps the record.

Why it’s different

Exact, private and kind

Exact on every bill

Amounts are kept in exact decimals, and Duefree’s server checks every bill so its shares add up to it exactly. Any rounding difference goes into the payer’s own share.

Private by design

No ads and no tracking SDKs. Duefree AI and receipt scans run on your phone, and Duefree never connects to your bank.

Kind between friends

If a bill isn’t yours, “Not mine” declines it and the person who paid is told. Reminders, gentle or direct, are limited to one a day per friend.

Duefree Plus

Two extras, if you want them

Everything above is free today: tracking, splitting, settling up, budgets, stats and notifications. Plus adds two things.

Duefree AI

An assistant that runs on your phone. It briefs you on your month, answers questions from your own numbers, reads receipts from a photo, and logs or splits an entry once you’ve checked it. Your questions never go to an AI server.

The model is a one-time download of about 2.6 GB, so you’ll need that much free space, and it’s best downloaded on Wi-Fi. Reading receipts isn’t available on every phone.

Premium themes

Five more colours for the whole app.

Plus is billed monthly or yearly through Google Play or the App Store, with a free trial where the store offers one. The store shows the price and when it renews before you confirm, and you can cancel there at any time.

Duefree AI opens on your brief.

Privacy

Your data, in plain words

  • No ads, no tracking SDKsThe app has no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software in it.
  • Duefree AI runs on your phoneThe assistant and receipt scans run on your phone. Receipt photos are never uploaded.
  • Your entries are stored in the EUYour entries, bills and friends are stored with our database provider, Supabase, in the EU, so they sync and friends can share bills with you.
  • Notifications go through Google and AppleGoogle’s Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers notifications, with Apple’s push service on an iPhone, so those services see your device’s push token and each notification’s text.
  • No bank connectionDuefree never connects to your bank and never asks for your bank details.
  • Close your account in the appDelete your account from Profile once your shared bills are settled and any Plus subscription is cancelled. How to delete your account
